Pray that God brings you another mom from your child’s school who will be willing to meet with you each week for prayer.

Because important life choices are made during the young adult years, Moms in Prayer encourages moms to continue praying in college and career groups.

Moms in Prayer International offers traditional groups, which pray for specific schools, as well as various Group Types, praying for preschoolers through adults. Some groups, such as military groups or career groups, adopt a neighborhood school to cover in prayer. Click here to view a list of Group Types.

Once a Moms in Prayer group is started, it is important to maintain the group for each subsequent school year. As a leader, you should seek to replace yourself if you find you will not be able to continue.

It is good to have a co-leader to lead the group from time to time. This gives you the opportunity to train another person so the group is not entirely dependent upon you. Before your children change schools or graduate, pray for and train a replacement, challenging the group members to not allow the group to disband.

A Moms in Prayer group prays for their children and matters that pertain to their school. Therefore, topics other than these must be prayed about before or after the hour of prayer. Moms with more than one child at the same school are encouraged to focus on one child each week. This allows for more concentrated and specific prayer for that child during the given time for intercession. Moms may alternate children weekly or focus on one child for several weeks or months.

If a mom has a specific prayer request for the school, she is to give it to the leader before the meeting. This will avoid unnecessary discussion during prayer time as well as give the leader opportunity to consider if it is appropriate for group time.

Moms in Prayer groups are not to meet on public school campuses nor impose upon the public school by asking for prayer requests and/or promotion of the ministry. (See Policies 5 and 6.)

A mom who knows a teacher personally and is confident that the teacher is a Christian may ask for prayer requests privately. The name of a student should never be given by a teacher who may share a prayer request.

Should a Moms in Prayer member find it necessary to go to a teacher or principal concerning a child or a school-related matter, she is to go with a gracious spirit as a concerned parent without identifying herself as being part of Moms in Prayer.
